Where it Started
Charlotte’s parents, Mary Anne and David, have been making these pickles for a long time down in New Orleans, LA. Initially, they were made during the holiday season, but recently were saved for special occasions, family requests, or gifts for friends. Anyone who has ever tasted them always asks for more. We have all said these pickles need to be out there, in stores, for everyone to enjoy. So, we decided to learn the recipe while working alongside them and have started making these pickles here in Austin, Texas. Now we are able to share them around the world and still with those back at home who have been very supportive and hungry for more.
Who We Are
Eric is a registered Architect who was born and raised in the prairie cajun lands of Eunice, Louisiana. Charlotte is an Architect-in-residence, sprouted straight out of the beautiful and mighty Mississippi river in New Orleans, Louisiana . We met in college through our shared interest in design and love of food and the great outdoors. Now we are incorporating that passion into our MAD Foods™ products. We both grew up in places full of good food and culture, so the MAD Pickle™ was created with those reverences in mind. It is more than just your ordinary pickle! With its southern sweet and “kicka’ heat and great crunch, we know it will become a go-to ingredient in your dishes. They are MAD Pickles™.
